Centennial Celebration

On April 15, 1924 the residents of the Village of Morton voted in favor of a tax-supported public library, with 207 people voting in favor, and 77 voting against. A library tax of 1.8 mill was levied.

This year, we celebrate 100 years of tax supported library service in Morton and we’re inviting you to join in the fun. Our celebration will be concentrated during two weeks in April, beginning on April 15 and culminating on Friday, April 26 with “A Century of Stories,” an adults only desserts reception.

Attend a program, purchase a centennial t-shirt or lapel pin, donate to support summer reading for the next 100 years or do all three in celebration of the Centennial.
